Schools are one of our main stakeholdersĀ to expand access to intercultural education. That’s why planning new ways to connect with educators should be a priority in order to grow our programs, enhance the experiences of our participants and increase our impact.
With their new initiative, AFS Serbia has brought teacher training to the local level. Through this, they hope to reach out to more teachers and have them join their volunteer force. Last June they held their first full-day training with teachers from different towns on Serbia. From setting goals to developing training outlines, the sessions gave them the tools to run their own workshops.
The date of the training was strategically chosen. By doing the workshop immediately after the end of the school year, teacher trainers will be able to plan and start their work at the beginning of the school year in September.
